What rosella is
Rosella is a species of hibiscus grown across northern Australia, prized for its deep red calyces.
Steeped, it gives a bright crimson cup with a clean, tart, berry-like flavour, a little like cranberry.
It is naturally caffeine-free, which makes it an easy choice at any time of day.
In Ilan Kindness
We pair rosella with berries to build a cup that is fruity, vibrant and beautifully balanced.
The name is the intention. Kindness is the cup you reach for when you want a moment of care, for yourself or for someone else.
How to brew it
Enjoy it hot
Steep one tea bag in freshly boiled water for three to five minutes, longer if you like it stronger and more tart.
Serve it iced
Brew it double strength, let it cool, then pour over ice. The colour alone is worth it.
Rosella is also a lovely base for entertaining. Brew a jug, chill it, and add fresh berries and a little sparkling water for a celebration drink with no alcohol.
