We are overjoyed to share some incredible news with you! Ilan Style, in collaboration with Haus of Dizzy, has won the Best Collaboration Award at the Victorian Aboriginal Business Awards. This recognition celebrates our partnership for the stunning Mabo Day Earrings, a project that reflects our shared passion for creativity, culture, and community.
"Of all the awards we could have won, the collaborators award is so special!" said our founder, Kerry Arabena. These heartfelt words capture how much this achievement means to us. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, and to have it recognised at this level is truly humbling.
The Mabo Day Earrings were born from a shared vision between Ilan Style and Haus of Dizzy to honour the legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo, whose tireless advocacy for land rights reshaped Australian history. Featuring art by Kayla Rae Arabena, these earrings carry a message of resilience, pride, and the enduring power of First Nations storytelling.
Kristy Dickinson, the powerhouse behind Haus of Dizzy summed up the moment beautifully: "As a proud Wiradjuri woman, this award is a reflection of the passion, dedication, and hard work we've poured into our businesses, and it's an honour to be recognised alongside Kerry, a true trailblazer in her own right. This recognition isn’t just for us – it’s for all First Nations women leading the charge in design, innovation, and entrepreneurship."

This award is more than a trophy; it’s a testament to the power of connection and the importance of lifting each other up. Kristy’s words resonate deeply with us, especially as we reflect on the broader impact of First Nations women breaking barriers and redefining what’s possible in the business world.
A huge thank you goes out to the Kinaway Chamber of Commerce and the award sponsor Monash University for recognising the incredible work being done by Aboriginal businesses across Victoria. Your support fosters growth and highlights the immense talent within our communities. We also want to extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported Ilan Style and Haus of Dizzy on this journey, from our customers to our amazing teams.
This award marks an exciting chapter in our story, and we are more motivated than ever to continue creating meaningful collaborations that celebrate First Nations culture, artistry, and innovation. Together, we’re paving the way for a brighter future.
